The "Faith + Cups" Coffee Stand That Stole Our Hearts

The "Faith + Cups" Coffee Stand That Stole Our Hearts

Every once in a while, something happens in business that brings you right back to where it all started.

For me, this was one of those moments.

Earlier this year, I received the sweetest message from a mom named Savannah. She had discovered Drink Katy’s on Amazon and reached out because her nine-year-old daughter, Natalie, had an idea.

Her family was having a garage sale, and instead of just hanging around while the grown-ups sold their things, Natalie wanted to start her own little business: an iced coffee and dirty soda stand.

And when I read Savannah's message, my heart just about exploded.

Because before Drink Katy’s was Drink Katy’s… I was that little girl.

Before Drink Katy’s, There Was a Little Coffee Stand

When I was around Natalie's age, other kids might have thought about setting up a lemonade stand.

Me?

I wanted to sell coffee. 😂☕️

I loved coffee and tea from such a young age. At garage sales in my neighborhood, I would serve coffee instead of lemonade. I even remember having cappuccino parties for my fifth-grade class.

At the time, of course, I had absolutely no idea that this little childhood obsession would eventually turn into my career.

Years later, I would go on to start Drink Katy’s and build an entire company around the drinks I had loved since I was a little girl.

So when Savannah told me what Natalie wanted to do, there was absolutely no way I wasn't going to support her.

We sent her a discount for our 20-Pack Cold Brew Coffee Packs, wished her lots of luck, and asked her mom to PLEASE send pictures.

And then we waited. 💗

Introducing “Faith & Cups” ☕️

A few weeks later, the photos arrived.

And you guys…

LOOK AT HER STAND.

Natalie created her own little coffee shop called Faith & Cups and set everything up at her family's garage sale.

She had Drink Katy’s Cold Brew Coffee, cups, straws, flavored syrups and her own handwritten menu featuring dirty sodas and cold brew creations.

And apparently, business was booming!

Savannah wrote to us afterward:

“It was a pretty big success!! And the coffee tastes great! Thank you so much! 😊"

She later told me that Natalie's “face lit up when she got her first customer.”

That part got me.

Because I can picture that feeling so clearly.

There is something really special about the first time someone chooses something you created. Whether you're nine years old standing behind a folding table at a garage sale or building a company years later, that feeling of making your first sale is pretty hard to forget.

And Then I Noticed the Bracelet 💗

There was one more little detail in these pictures that meant so much to me.

Natalie was wearing the heart bracelet that came with her Drink Katy’s order.

Savannah told me afterward that she was still wearing it.

If you're new around here, those little hearts represent something much bigger than a piece of jewelry. Love has always been at the center of Drink Katy’s. It's why our mission is Love Is Brewing® and why sharing love with the women who support this company has been part of our story from the beginning.

Seeing that bracelet on the wrist of a little girl standing behind her very own coffee stand felt incredibly special.

Maybe because, in a tiny way, I saw my younger self in her.

You Never Know Where the Little Things Will Lead

I certainly wasn't thinking about becoming an entrepreneur when I was serving coffee at garage sales as a kid.

I just knew I loved it.

I loved coffee. I loved creating things. I loved serving people. And apparently, I loved finding a reason to turn just about anything into a little business. 😂

Looking back now, those moments feel like tiny breadcrumbs leading toward something I couldn't see yet.

That's one of the reasons Natalie's story touched me so much.

Maybe this is simply a really fun childhood memory she'll always have.

Or maybe someday she'll look back at these pictures and realize this was the beginning of something.

You just never know.

Keep Dreaming Big, Natalie 💗

Natalie, if you ever read this someday: keep going.

Keep creating things.

Keep trying ideas.

Keep serving people.

Keep getting ridiculously excited about your first customer.

And most importantly, keep doing the things you love—even if they seem like small things right now.

Sometimes the little coffee stand you set up as a kid becomes part of a story much bigger than you ever could have imagined.

Thank you to Savannah and her family for letting Drink Katy’s be a tiny part of this memory and for allowing us to share these adorable photos.

And thank you, Natalie, for reminding this founder exactly where she started.

From one little coffee girl to another…

I'm cheering you on. 💗☕️

Love,

Katy Ochs
